ZeemGO meets 4 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint for a sustainable future for all. They are interrelated with each other and incorporate the global challenges we face every day, such as poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. In order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each of these targets by 2030.
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Inclusive and sustainable industrialization, together with innovation and infrastructure, can unleash dynamic and competitive economic forces that generate employment and income. They play a key role in introducing and promoting new technologies, facilitating international trade and enabling efficient use of resources.
Innovation and technological progress are keys to finding lasting solutions to economic and environmental challenges, such as increasing energy and resource efficiency. Globally, investment in research and development (R&D), as a percentage of GDP, increased from 1.5% in 2000 to 1.7% in 2015, and remained at almost the same level in the 2017. However, in developing regions it was less than 1%.

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
The world is becoming more and more urbanized. Since 2007, more than half of the world’s population has been living in cities, and that number is expected to rise to 60% by 2030. Cities and metropolitan areas are powerhouses of economic growth, contributing 60% about world GDP. However, they also account for around 70% of global carbon emissions and more than 60% of resource use.
Our ZeemGO mobile application promotes sustainable mobility which causes carbon emissions in cities to be considerably reduced. Transport is responsible for more than 30% of CO2 emissions in the EU, of which 72% come from road transport. Cars are the main pollutant, with 60.7% of the total emissions from road transport in Europe. Sustainable mobility is the great hope for these alarming figures to begin to decrease. It should be a priority issue in our lives.
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
2019 was the second hottest year of all time and marked the end of the hottest decade (2010-2019) on record. Levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere rose to record levels in 2019. Climate change is affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting different lives. Weather systems are changing, sea levels are rising, and weather events are becoming more extreme.
As stated in the previous section, CO2 emissions in transport are very high, our ZeemGO mobile application promotes electric mobility by helping to reduce these emissions.
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
To prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems around the world, the United Nations has declared the Decade for Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). This globally coordinated response to habitat loss and degradation will focus on building the political will and capacity to restore humans’ relationship with nature.
Likewise, it is a direct response to the advice of science, as expressed in the Special Report on Climate Change and Land of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, to the decisions adopted by all Member States of the United Nations United in the Rio conventions on climate change and biodiversity and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. Work continues on an ambitious new Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
